We’ve been pretty busy around here with the normal daily things of life, but I thought before all the Christmas festivities begin I should do a quick catch-up post.
We went back to Carkeek Park to play. Baby Boy had fun playing with John. You can kind of see the little soccer ball at his feet.
After becoming bored with soccer, he decided to sit down and inspect the leaves.
And taste them
And as you might expect, leaves taste gross!
Baby Boy works on his climbing skills daily. The bench is now in our bedroom.
He can improvise with whatever he can find and drag.
Like the paper towels we had just bought at Costco.
He learned how to climb up his high chair, but the bigger news is he knows how to climb DOWN now too. Here he is stuck and mad about it.
Here he has taken his climbing to new levels. He used to drag that table all over the apartment to use as a stool until I took the legs off of it.
You said you’re going to do what with my table?
Then he found another climbing aid.
The box is even easier to balance on.
He can now reach all the light switches with the help of his box.
The kitchen light switch he can reach all on his own. Cooking in the dark can be a bit of a challenge.
It’s cold outside here in the north!
Baby Boy and I both caught colds that lasted for a miserable 2 weeks.
He couldn’t wait for Thanksgiving Dinner to be ready, so he helped himself to some sweet potato puffs he had to have climbed up to get. We didn’t see him do it, just the end result.
All 3 of us cheered our Baylor Bears on to the Holiday Bowl!
3 molars came in within days of each other. You can see in the background that his gate is bolted to the wall. Before baby proofing the fireplace/TV with the gate, he could take apart the fireplace to access the source of the gas and other fireplace parts. We had the gas shut off to the fireplace this summer, but now it stays constantly lit. Thus the heavy duty gate bolted to the wall.
John went to Washington D.C. for work for 3 days, and we watched Sesame Street in the evenings to keep our mind off of who wasn’t at home. The 1st evening he was gone, the UPS guy knocked on the door at 5:40PM. Baby Boy was convinced it was his Dada and got so excited, but couldn’t understand why Dada didn’t come inside. He spent the rest of the evening trying to open the door and looking out the front windows. The next evening we were able to Skype with him which made it a little easier on Baby Boy.
That sums up what we’ve been up to lately. Soon I’ll be packing our bags for Christmas. I probably won’t post anything again until after the holidays, but once we do get home, I should have lots to write about and many pictures to post!
