Baby Boy and I went to our local insurance office to update our new address recently. The lady helping us was trying to make small talk while waiting on her computer to do its thing. She asked where we had moved from, and I said Eastern WA, but that we hadn’t lived there long. Before that we had been in TX.
Lady: “How do you like Seattle so far?”
Me: “It’s nice so far. The summer temperatures have been easier.”
Lady: “There’s a lot fewer guns here. Not everyone has guns like they do in TX.”
Me: “Yeah, and nobody rides horses to school here either.”
Lady: “You might see that in parts of Eastern WA but never in Seattle.”
I thought she was joking. She wasn’t.
She thought I was serious.
