Seattle is under a heat advisory this weekend with highs in the 85-88° F range. When we’ve been out and about the last few days, almost everyone we have interacted with tell us to “keep cool” this weekend. We return the sentiment, but we are internally thinking, “What? It’s just going to be in the eighties?!? You people wouldn’t survive in Texas!”
The big deal is that most people don’t have a/c. We don’t have a/c. Our first night in our apartment John and I searched for the thermostat. Then I noticed there were no air vents. Not having a/c is totally foreign to us, but we’re getting used to it. Most days we don’t need it. We keep some windows open, and when Baby Boy naps in the afternoon I open the patio door. I also don’t run the dryer or dishwasher in the afternoons, and it really hasn’t been bad at all. In fact, the other night I had to get an extra blanket out because our room got too cold with the window cracked an inch.
