Baby Boy sleeps 11-12 hours every night, usually from 7:30pm-7:30am. I think we might try pushing bedtime back to 8 pm so John can have more time with him in the evenings. He keeps changing his nap schedule, but as long as he keeps sleeping at night, it’s not a big deal. Before Christmas, he had been taking a mid-morning and late-morning nap for about 30-45 minutes each, and a 3 hours afternoon nap. Then he started skipping his first nap and sleeping for 4 hours from about 10:30am-2:30pm, and then a 30 minute nap around 4:30pm. The last couple of days though he has been taking an hour long morning nap and a 3 hour afternoon nap. The changing nap schedule has made running errands challenging, but hey, as long as he is sleeping all night, I’m not going to complain!
Baby Boy started rolling from his tummy to his back on Dec. 23rd, and he rocks side to side when he’s on his back. He’s able to roll on to his side, but doesn’t make it all the way over to his tummy yet. In the last month he has become so “talkative.” He talks in the car, when we put him in his bed, and especially if we’re talking. He does not want to be left out of phone or skype conversations either! He is also becoming more interested in his feet as you can see in the above pictures. He still loves his play mat, but I’ve been letting him use his jumper a little every day, and he likes it too. He gets tired after about 15-20 minutes and wants out of it.
Our favorite new skill is laughing. We’ve discovered a few phrases that he finds funny: “What time did you go to bed last night?, What did Santa bring you, little boy?, Cup of tea, and his absolute favorite is the word is parfait. Why he finds parfait to be so funny I do not know, but we’ll say it over and over and he just giggles and giggles. A couple of nights ago I had on a pink robe and asked him, “Does Mommy’s robe look like pink parfait?” That made him laugh for over 2 minutes.
